The Client

is a well-known women's apparel company with 60+ years of experience in the retail industry. Their products can be found online for global purchase. Additionally, they have their products at 65 retail outlets, 70 signature shops, and several departmental stores in the USA. They offer products exclusively for the summer season that range from vibrant casual clothing to elegant accessories.

The Challenge

The client has an e-commerce website based on a legacy AS400 backend. It required data to be manually updated on the IPS files of the website, which slowed down the information flow to the users.

This manual update created a problem to provide customers with real-time updates. This delay created a negative impact on the user experience, which is crucial in this immensely competitive market.

The website lacked a password policy to educate users on the importance and best practices of creating and implementing strong passwords, leaving critical information vulnerable to cybercriminal activities.

Implementing Testing Strategies

Programmers.io took responsibility for each functional area of the information flow to create and implement a decision table using Microsoft Excel. This decision table ensured correct data updates in all fields based on color, style, and UPC.
