About Client
Our client is a prominent less-than-truckload (LTL), union-free motor carrier service provider that has been in the freight industry for over 90 years. With headquarters in Thomasville, North Carolina, they offer their services via 250+ service centers across the United States and North America. They specialize in delivering air and ground expedited transportation, container drayage, supply chain consulting, truckload brokerage, and warehousing services to diverse industries.
The Challenge
The client faced significant challenges with their quality assurance (QA) process and enterprise resource planning (ERP) framework, which required immediate attention. While they wanted to streamline their testing processes, the following created substantial barriers:
- High ITR Volume: A high volume of Incident Test Requests (ITRs) created significant issues for the client’s QA process. These ITRs required immediate attention and approval from the in-house QA team, which was beyond their capacity to review and validate effectively.
- ERP Framework: The client’s operational workflow depended on an ERP framework connected with multiple systems. Due to its complicated nature, testing the framework became challenging as any changes or issues in one system could impact other systems across the network.
- Platform Compatibility: Ensuring all interconnected systems work efficiently on various browsers, devices, and operation systems introduced a new set of challenges requiring rigorous testing.
Technology Stack
The Solution
Programmers.io took ownership of specific functional areas and ensured effective collaboration with the client to streamline their QA processes.
ITR
Assessment
The Programmers.io team proactively assessed each ITR’s complexities and requirements within functional domains like accounting, billing, expediting, freight payables, pricing, and rating.
Improvement
Identification

Business Impact
Enhanced Efficiency
With optimized workflows, streamlined processes, and targeted improvements, the QA team could easily manage and validate ITRs. Furthermore, they could identify and resolve issues effectively, boosting overall efficiency.
Improved QA Processes
Focusing on specific functional areas, identifying areas of improvement, and addressing pain points helped improve the overall QA process, leading to smoother and more effective testing.
Cross-platform Compatibility
With an improved testing process, the team ensured that the ERP framework works efficiently across different browsers, devices, and operation systems without impacting other systems across the network.
