Telangana, with a literacy rate of 72.8%,notably below the national average of 77.7%, continues to face challenges in ensuring access to quality education. Shockingly, the literacy gap between urban and rural parts of the state is 23.4%, one of the highest in the country. Programmers.io found out that financial issues and poor access to proper resources caused many children to stop their academics. Hence, Programmers.io sought to partner with NGOs that supported the education of underprivileged students.
Nachiketa Tapovan is an organization that is dedicated to the welfare of disadvantaged children. They lacked essential books and equipment to help students pursue their education. With a team of 24 dedicated professionals, Programmers.io initiated a meaningful CSR activity by visiting the organization.
Empowering Education and Nurturing Futures
During their visit, the team met with the NGO’s director and learned about the organization as well as introduced themselves and Programmers.io. After meeting with the director, they met with the children and distributed academic books, stationeries, and laboratory equipment to help in their educational journey. They also provided a day’s worth of nutritious meals, ensuring the children felt supported both mentally and physically.
Inspiring Aspirations
What made the day truly special was the heartwarming interaction between the team and the students. Rather than just talking about academics, the conversation encompassed dreams, aspirations, and the boundless potential that each child holds. The team encouraged the children to envision careers that would make them leaders and contributors to societal progress. The Programmers.io team was surprised and overwhelmed to learn that the children wished to become future corporates like them.
The NGO’s director expressed heartfelt gratitude for the donations. His sense of obligation was portrayed through his words, “The books and lab equipment were critical for our students, especially those preparing for their tenth-grade board exams. These resources will significantly ease the burden on the students and staff.”

Nachiketa Tapovan, established in 1999, is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering moral and spiritual values while serving humanity without discrimination. Initially, the organization provided basic education to underprivileged children under a tree. Later it expanded into Nachiketa Vidya Mandir, a formal school recognized by the S.S.C. Board. Today, it supports over 200 students in Kodgal village and 270 students in Hyderabad with programs for financial aid and higher education counseling.
