Experience Required: 5 to 15 Years

Key Responsibilities

  • Support, maintain, and enhance applications developed using Visual LANSA.
  • Analyze existing application functionality, business processes, and technical architecture.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement fixes in a timely manner.
  • Develop new features, screens, reports, and business logic using Visual LANSA.
  • Perform impact analysis and root cause analysis for system enhancements and defects.
  • Document application components, workflows, interfaces, and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with business users to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure application stability and performance.
  • Support integration of Visual LANSA applications with databases and external systems.
  • Participate in modernization, upgrade, or migration initiatives as required.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+years of hands-on experience with Visual LANSA development.
  • Strong experience in RDML/RDMLX programming.
  • Experience working on IBM i (AS/400 / iSeries) environments.
  • Strong understanding of Visual LANSA Framework and application lifecycle.
  • Experience in application support, maintenance, troubleshooting, and debugging.
  • Knowledge of DB2/400 or similar relational databases.
  • Ability to analyze and work with legacy applications and undocumented systems.
  • Experience gathering business requirements and providing technical solutions.
  • Good understanding of software development best practices.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to RPG, CL, and IBM i ecosystem.
  • Experience with LANSA application modernization projects.
  • Knowledge of web services, APIs, and system integrations.
  • Familiarity with impact analysis and change management tools.
  • Experience in manufacturing, retail, healthcare, banking, or other enterprise environments.
  • Understanding of Windows, Web, and Client-Server applications developed using Visual LANSA.
