Experience Required: 5 to 6 Years

We are seeking a hands-on Senior SQL Server & PostgreSQL DBA to manage and support enterprise database platforms across on-premise and multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). The role is primarily focused on SQL Server administration while requiring strong hands-on operational experience in PostgreSQL and managed cloud database services. The ideal candidate should be comfortable supporting production environments across multiple database technologies, participating in modernization initiatives, and contributing to database reliability, performance, automation, and cloud adoption efforts.

SQL Server Administration & Production Operations

  • Manage end-to-end SQL Server DBA operations across development, test, and production environments
  • Perform installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, backup, restore, and recovery activities
  • Lead performance tuning including query optimization, execution plans, indexing, and troubleshooting
  • Implement and support HA/DR solutions including Always On, replication, clustering, and log shipping
  • Troubleshoot blocking, deadlocks, IO bottlenecks, and performance degradation issues

Multi-Cloud & Managed Database Operations

  • Administer Azure SQL, Azure Managed Instance, AWS RDS, Aurora PostgreSQL, and related managed database services
  • Support high availability, failover, scaling, backup, and monitoring strategies across cloud platforms
  • Monitor database performance, availability, utilization, and capacity trends

Cross-Skilled Database Operations

  • Hands-on administration and support of PostgreSQL databases in production environments
  • Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL on AWS RDS, Aurora PostgreSQL, and Azure Database for PostgreSQL
  • Exposure to MySQL / MariaDB environments and operational support activities
  • Familiarity with cloud-native databases such as Aurora, Cosmos DB, DynamoDB, Cassandra, or equivalent platforms

Database Migration & Modernization

  • Support on-prem to cloud migrations across SQL Server and PostgreSQL platforms
  • Participate in modernization and re-platforming initiatives
  • Assist in SQL Server ? PostgreSQL migration and optimization activities

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5–6 years of hands-on Database Administration experience
  • Minimum 5 years of strong SQL Server DBA experience supporting production environments
  • Minimum 4 years of hands-on PostgreSQL administration experience
  • Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS RDS, Aurora PostgreSQL, Azure SQL, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, or similar managed database platforms
  • Proven expertise in performance tuning, HA/DR, backup and recovery, production support, and troubleshooting
  • Experience supporting mission-critical production environments and SLA-driven support models
