Role Overview:
The JBoss Middleware Administrator is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, monitoring, and supporting enterprise applications running on Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP) and related middleware technologies. The role ensures high availability, performance, security, and stability across development, test, staging, and production environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and administer Red Hat JBoss EAP (7.x) environments.
- Lead and support upgrades from JBoss EAP 7.0 to 7.4, including application compatibility adjustments.
- Troubleshoot configuration challenges and application behavior issues arising from version changes.
- Manage deployments, server configurations, domain mode/standalone mode setups.
- Monitor application and server performance, including JVM tuning and thread/heap optimization.
- Perform log analysis, root cause analysis (RCA), and incident resolution.
- Support production environments during rollout of upgraded middleware.
- Implement security best practices including SSL, authentication, and role-based access.
- Collaborate with development teams for application changes required due to middleware upgrades.
- Automate operational tasks using scripting (Shell, Python).
- Maintain documentation for configurations, procedures, and environments.
Must-Have Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with Linux/Unix administration and Red Hat JBoss EAP (7.x).
- Experience with JBoss upgrades and migration scenarios.
- Solid understanding of Java/J2EE applications and application server architecture.

- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning in middleware technologies and enterprise application platforms is desirable.
- Relevant certifications such as Red Hat Certified Specialist in JBoss EAP Administration (EX248) or equivalent middleware certifications are highly preferred.
- Certifications in JBoss, WebSphere, or WebLogic administration, along with Linux/Unix or Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), will be an added advantage.
Education:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Good to Have Skills:
